Habilitation and Respite Providers
Habilitation and Respite providers work one-on-one with children and young
adults with developmental disabilities. Services take place in the home and
community of the child and are focused on teaching skills to increase
independence and functioning.
Habilitation goals may address cognitive areas, fine/gross motor skills,
socialization, communication and adaptive behavior.
Respite allows the primary caregiver relief by providing qualified care and
supervision.
Individuals may be employed as a Habilitation and Respite provider. Scheduling
is extremely flexible and is designed to meet the needs of the individual and
family. Shifts are usually 2 – 8 hours in length and vary by day, evening and
weekend.
Eligibility Requirements for Employment
Habilitation and Respite Providers must meet these minimum requirements to be eligible
for employment with Blue Mountain Developmental Programs, LLC.
• Must be 18 years of age
• Have experience working with children.
• Valid Photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport or Military Id) and Social Security Card.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• 3 references
• Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Employees must have their own reliable transportation.
• Attend Blue Mountain Provider Orientation and Habilitation training.
Compensation and Benefits
- $10.00 - $13.00 per hour Determined by education and experience.
- May be eligible for enrollement in health insurance plan.
